As a resident you will have the privacy of your own bed-sitting room, which you will furnish yourself. You will enjoy two home- cooked meals per day in the dining room, and have facilities in your own room to allow you to cater for other simple food or drink requirements, including your breakfast, the only meal of the day for which you will have personal catering responsibility.
What does Nonsuch Abbeyfield provide?
As a resident, you will have have a shared sitting room with rooms equipped with en suite toilet and basin at Epsom, whilst in the Sutton and Cheam houses you will also have an en- suite bath or shower . Rooms at first floor level may be accessed by lift. All three houses have well maintained and attractive gardens with shade and seating for use in warm weather .
Our charges?
Our charges are inclusive of all of the above services and facilities , except for the provision and use of a telephone. The level of charges varies between rooms based on their size, aspect and location within the house.
Our 2007 charges range between £28 and £35 per day, which the Society believes to be outstanding value given the quality and level of service on offer (This equates to a weekly charge of between £198 and £243). Upon application you will be given the precise charges for the rooms available at the time. You are encouraged to visit our houses and meet our residents if you wish to verify the value of our offer for yourself.
Affordability?
All houses are eligible for Housing Benefit and Supporting People grants from the London Borough of Sutton. We do not inquire about people's means when they apply, or offer any financial advice, but are happy to suggest where they may be able to obtain such advice and assistance with complete confidentiality.
Who can apply?
You need to be reasonably fit and able to cater for your own personal needs and hygiene, to keep your own room clean and in good order and to do your own washing in the facilities provided.
In considering applications for residence, the Society places great importance on ensuring that the newly accepted residents will be joining a household in which they will feel at ease and at home .
